Voiseys West Project

Project History

  • MINING HISTORY: The discovery and resulting purchase of Voisey's Bay Deposit remains one of the most significant transactions in Canadian mining history at 4.3 billon in 1996
  • MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE: Since 1996, major infrastructure has been developed in the region as a result of the Voisey's Bay mine, including a purpose-built port
  • SEVERAL ZONES: From 1995 to 2008, a total of 72 holes were drilled, identifying several zones of Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-PGE mineralization

Geology

  • GEOLOGICAL SIMILARITIES: Voisey's West project hosts similar geology as at the Voisey's Bay deposit, located in the same intrusive suite and sulfur-bearing country rocks (the "PG" Para-Gneiss)
  • MINERALIZATION: Mineralization occurs as magmatic nickel sulphides with pyrrhotite, pentlandite, and chalcopyrite in mafic intrusive rocks
  • EXPANSION POTENTIAL: Potential for a deeper mafic-intrusive body with additional pooled nickel sulphides; the system remains open, offering excellent potential for expansion

2023 Exploration

The Company completed a detailed compilation program, including re-sampling of historic drill cores and reprocessing historic geophysics. 2023 drilling hit a new sulfide zone north of the northernmost historic zone, successfully showing the system remains open.

2023 drilling confirmed:

  • Greater than 1% nickel intersected in drilling at multiple locations over a strike length of 1km
  • Good potential to identify pockets of higher grade metals
  • Similar grades and mineralization style to the Voisey's Bay Eastern Deeps zones
  • Mineralization remains open
